EGT0505 Details

This is the second generation of EGT reducing tunes for the Super X. This tune was developed with a wideband O2 sensor in addition to EGT sensors. The APS maps for both cylinders were carefully calibrated over several weeks of data logging. This allows for a more precise reduction in EGT based on the real A/F ratio. 

This graph shows Torque and Horsepower vs RPMs for the 8351.xdt tune. This was run on a bike with factory slash cuts and X-man air filter. Horsepower peaked at 68.54 while Torque peaked at 70.39 ft-lbs.

This graph shows A/F and Horsepower vs RPMs. A/F holds steady around a very  "cylinder head friendly"  11.7:1. This number actually matches this tune's A/F#2 map values. This is the result of correctly calibrated APS maps. No other tune has this accuracy.

This tune also runs the majority of the A/F#1 table (including idle) closed loop, so it optimize fuel delivery at Low and Mid engine loads for all bikes still using their O2 sensors.  Keep in mind, the open loop portions of this tune are only accurate for bikes with the same configuration as my bike. I have the East Coast air kit and factory slash cuts with drilled out freeze plugs.  As you might expect, this tune runs slightly rich. However, those with cams or head work may want to richen it even more by increasing the upper values of A/F #1 and A/F #2, while those with factory breathing may need to lower the upper values A/F #1 and A/F #2.

  • Peak EGT reduced by over 200 F

  • Ignition is increased slightly at WOT to compensate for the richer slower burning mixture
  • Intake Air Temp correction to ignition trim was increased slightly
  • Increases Base idle advance for both cylinders as does the EGT0305
  • Fixes most if not all stalls
  • Intake Air Temp correction to APS curve is flattened out some
  • Runs slightly richer as engine temp increases
  • Target idle speed lowered during warmup
  • Slightly decreases the A/F Warmup Enrichment
  • Increases acceleration enrichment slightly over the 8320, but still less than the 8303
  • Mileage is about 33 mph on my bike, YMMV
